Eastern Sage sends the text you submit, voice recordings you deliberately make, and birth information you deliberately enter to servers for processing. Account identifiers, device/service identifiers, conversation history, subscription status, and technical records may also be processed to operate the service. Eastern Sage must not be marketed as fully local or offline.
What is sent for processing
| Data | When and why |
|---|---|
| Text messages | Sent when you submit a conversation, quick action, meditation request, fortune request, or almanac request so the service can generate a response. |
| Voice recordings | Sent only after you choose voice input, grant microphone permission, record, and send. The service may process audio and a speech-recognition transcript to produce a reply. |
| Birth information | Sent only when you enter and submit it for daily fortune or fortune-telling features. It can include gender selection, calendar type, date, time, and chosen focus areas. |
| Account information | Email and one-time-code sign-in records are used to authenticate the account and associate eligible service characters, history, subscription, and Founding 100 status. |
| Device and app identifiers | Identifiers, operating system, app version, and related technical data may be used to route the correct service, deliver updates, prevent duplicate entitlements, and diagnose failures. |
| Conversation and media records | Account-linked conversation history and associated voice or generated-media records may be stored or retrieved so you can continue a conversation. |
| Subscription records | Plan type, status, expiry, purchases, and redemption history are processed to grant or restrict paid features. |
What the current experience does not imply
Not “local only”
The visible companion runs on your Mac, but the listed AI inputs are sent to service infrastructure for processing.
Not always listening
Voice input requires a user action and mac OS microphone permission.
Not medical confidentiality
Eastern Sage is not a healthcare provider, therapist, or emergency service. Do not assume health-sector confidentiality rules apply.
Not predictive certainty
Fortune and almanac features are for cultural interest and personal reflection. They should not be used for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions.
Website privacy
This website does not use analytics or advertising pixels. The Chinese Founding 100 application sends the information entered in that form directly to the Eastern Sage account backend; it is not stored in browser storage. The payment result pages do not themselves collect card details.
Memory and account deletion
Eastern Sage's memory system remembers your experiences, preferences, and previous conversations so it can understand you better in future conversations. Individual memories cannot currently be viewed, edited, or deleted. You can delete your account from the product; doing so deletes your conversation history, memories, and other account data together.
Product boundary
Use qualified support when the situation needs it.
Eastern Sage can support reflection and a brief guided pause. It cannot diagnose, treat, or respond as an emergency service. If someone may be in immediate danger or considering self-harm, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis service in their location.
